unlikely words i like

this was an assignment for an art direction class I took. we had to take anything we have learned in life, and spell it out with any objects we wanted. we focused on typography, kerning, design and style. and yes, these are lyrics from a Nas song.

wedding season has begun.

so, hence the title, you can see what i did this weekend. yes, i went to the most fun wedding i have ever been to - to date. my sister's/my good friend got married last saturday, and lets just say my wedding line up for the summer has a lot to live up to. the weather was absolutely perfect and love, or a few to many coronas, was in the air ; ). the ceremony was at a small catholic church in our hometown. after the ceremony we ventured to the reception which was at a mansion a few miles away. and my god, was it a perfect venue. let me just brief you by letting you know the groom's parents own Azteca, an awesome mexican restaurant chain in the area. long story short, the ramos family knows how to throw a party. so the reception was fantastic, which started with an open bar, appetizers and a mariachi band, naturally.

coronas, apps & sunshine :)

they continued to play while we all kept finding ourselves back at the bar. and back again. and again.

then there was the pond, complete with swans.

i loved the place settings. simple & fun.

& the flowers were beautiful.

this. cake. wow. absolutely loved the white on white.

the good stuff. red velvet :)

me & my sister. both dresses, forever21

snapping pics while waiting for dinner :)

salmon.prime rib.mashed potatoes.rice.grilled vegetables.all amazing.

and this, is where the magic happened. the reception tent was perfect with the strings of lights. conveniently, there was also and open bar down at the tent- they really did make this too easy. the only minor glitch of the whole day was the dj failed to show up. well good thing there was a mariachi band, right?! but a back up dj ended up coming last minute to save the day. there were some touching speeches by the maid of honor, and of course the classic and slightly inappropriate speech by the drunk brother of the bride. we danced all night and the best wedding ever came to an end when, wait for it...the stretch excursion limo dropped us off at our doorstep.

seriously, could this wedding get more perfect?
